That's Sophie counting in English. By the time I hit the record button, she was on number 3. She counts from 1 to 10 a lot, sometimes stacking blocks or cards at the same time. Evidence that it's not just memorization, but that she actually understands the concept.
Her Montessori teacher has noticed and mentioned this week to Lewis that Sophie's counting is getting really good. Lewis agreed. But he was shocked when the teacher informed him that Sophie can count to 10 in Swedish, too.
Wow.
She has herself a sweet Swedish accent, too!

AWESOME!!! Tilda can count to 10 in Swedish and English too. We just realized she knows the entire alphabet in English too. That blew my mind. I would like to say its all me but I think Elmo has helped a lot. There is a great ABC song on YouTube with Elmo and India Arie which we used to watch each evening before bath time.
Have you heard of Yo Gabba Gabba? We just bought a bunch of episodes and I must say it is so much fun hearing my little one who speaks Swedish all day... sing in English. Its a pretty good show! Highly addictive though... so be prepared.
by the way Tilda is 2.5 she was born july 1st 2007.

ciao, it's been too long since I stopped by. I hope you are all well and happy in Sweden. I was in Stockholm during Advent staying with old friends from IKEA, my girlfriend was talking about searching for mushrooms in the forest outside of Älmhult and I thought of you walking there.
I was completely confused by the darkness at 3pm, I have to say!!
Happy Sunday...
Sophie is just beautiful. :)
