It was my third trip to Paris, but our first while living in Sweden. And, more significantly, our first with a baby in tow. Metro ≠ baby friendly. Centre Pompidou = 10x more fun with a little one. See my blog entry.

Yes, it has beautiful architecture. But no soul. Skip it and go to Budapest instead.
berlin, germany
We only spent a night here, but I could tell immediately that this was a city I could live in. Hope we can get back there sometime soon. Loved the new architecture, friendly people and the gigantic, wooded park.

beer, bratwurst and a really big slide

Our day at the Opel Zoo near Wiesbaden was packed with exciting adventures for Sophie, including her first sip of beer. (Dad, how old was I when you gave me my first taste?) As you can see, my delicious German wheat beer was a big hit. Can you blame her?! She also went to town on a bratwurst.

Her first adrenaline rush was courtesy of daddy, of course. He took her down an enormous slide (slight look of terror on her face the whole way down) and later rode the go-carts (both daddy and Sophie enjoyed that one... daddy a little too much, I think!).
